Benjamin Alire Sáenz es un aclamado poeta y autor de novelas infantiles, juveniles y para adultos. Su primer libro de poesía, Calendario de polvo, obtuvo el American Book Award, y con su volumen de cuentos Kentucky Club fue el primer escritor latino que ganó el premio PEN/Faulkner. Aristóteles y Dante descubren los secretos del universo (Crossbooks, 2019) le valió el premio Michael L Printz, el Pura Belpré, el Lambda Literary y el Stonewall Book Award. También es artista plástico, activista por la igualdad entre las personas y profesor de escritura creativa en la Universidad de Texas, en El Paso.
